Columbus, OH – Rea S. Hederman Jr., executive director of the Economic Research Center at The Buckeye Institute and vice president of policy, issued the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in California v. Texas.

“With the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in California v. Texas the Affordable Care Act (ACA) remains in place as do a host of problems with the country’s health care system caused by the ACA—most notably increasing health care costs. Access to quality and affordable health care remains a challenge for many Americans. Policymakers should implement policies that reduce regulations that make it harder for doctors and nurses to deliver care and policies that increase competition. By reducing unnecessary regulations and increasing competition Americans will experience greater access to quality care and lower costs.”
