Columbus, OH – Robert Alt, president and chief executive officer of The Buckeye Institute, issued the following statement after presenting his oral argument before the Ohio Supreme Court in Schaad v. Alder (one of Buckeye’s six municipal income tax cases) on Wednesday.

“The city of Cincinnati made an immodest proposition that would require the Ohio Supreme Court to dispense with 73 years of unbroken precedent and overrule five of its previous decisions in so doing. The court ought to decline that audacious invitation, and instead take the side of hardworking Ohio taxpayers who have been denied constitutional protections and due process.”
